Hi,
1993matias hat geschrieben: Dienstag 24. September 2024, 11:26My apologies, I reserved yesterday and today for building, but ... I had no time to finish anything to upload today.
there are still some unreserved days ahead and I’m busy with another teamwork. As nobody else has booked time, you still have a few days to upload your version.
PS: sc-english.nfz seems to be missing a vehicle and chris-BR-DMU3.nfz seem to be missing altogether. Could you upload the latest user-graphics files from your end to the drive?
On my next building date, promised!

Hello,

It seems like EN453 has not uploaded their version after building for a few days. I will not upload anything until the end of my building period, but the changes will be easy to paste in. I look forward to the new version :)

’n Ahmdchen,
in the meanwhile, I’ve updated the map with the approximate borders of Whales (see file Map-2024-Sep.png). The borders of of the orphaned Otčina are not exact as well.

And I’m looking forward to the new version as well. :)

I only build some basic lines which will get "character" later. Dont expect anything yet.
The Network will be uploaded soon.I have been busy with my "real" Project as i have Internet Connection for Openrailwaymap and Earth now.

Btw: I think about making "Whales" an open access Country where anyone else can also build. How about that?

Mahlzeit & Happy Holiday 🇩🇪 (to whom it applies),
EN453 hat geschrieben: Mittwoch 2. Oktober 2024, 19:15Btw: I think about making "Whales" an open access Country where anyone else can also build. How about that?
how would this work? And how would this work with cross-border traffic?

And regarding the topic, what do you think about th following arrangement:

 IC40A from your Capital – Ironwood – Castle Douglas – Cumnock – Clydeshire Airport (ClAp)
 IC40B from your Capital – Ironwood – Castle Douglas – Cumnock – southeast
 IC40C from Cumnock – southeast

This would connect your capital and Ironwood directly to my airport; the fastest way from your capital to my capital (Clydesgow) would be via Oban and the high-speed line. All routes hourly with diesel locomotives, so that every section is served half-hourly by alternating routes. Or maybe just one hourly route from your Capital to Castle Douglas?
whales-cd-routes.png
IC4 from Clydesgow would go further west to the coast. During summertime it would be filled with Clydeshirans on their way to a seaside holiday. :)

(There are additional IR4 and IR40 parallel to IC4 and IC40, which are stopping more frequently. These might terminate at the border or continue into Whales.)

Hello both of you,

Despite having 15 years of experience in BAHN I still underestimate the time it takes to make something work flawlessly. I will need until tomorrow at around lunch before uploading - I had hoped to upload this afternoon.

It is your country, you can do what you want with it. But at the moment I have a million and one projects in Montspoor (my area), so I'll stay there for the foreseeable future.

Sascha and EN453: How would you like a night train from Coates via Clydesgow to the Capital of Whales and maybe further on to the beaches? I (Montspoor Railways) would be more than happy to provide the wagons - I need to use the repainted Talgo Trenhotel for something :)

@Sascha:

That´s nice planned! Agree with it. You can build the lines in if you want. That´s how i thought about the "open access". Cross border lines are maybe excluded. But in the state, feel free do add some ideas. Just put info points next to them. That may boost my lacking creativity :)

But theres one thing: I want my state mostly electrified. In the future, there may be also some branchlines with BEMU or hydrogen powered trains. So there has to be a locomotive change at the border. For the ICE TD they may have to go to the "downtime management" in some abandoned port yard :)
And then replace them with ICE -T...

Version 36 uploaded to the drive.

What is new in Montspoor? Trams!
Hugely increasing the connectivity in Coates the new tram network has been inaugurated. With tram lines T4 and T9 fully in operation, two of three main station are now connected. Someone seems to have forgotten to catch the stray tram calling itself T1 though
To celebrate the completion of the trams, all rides are for free this weekend. Take a tour and see what's new!

Many planned tram right-of-way have been marked on the map, with some actually built. Be prepared to see more city traffic soon, as at least two more tram lines are planned.

Hi ho,
after some Verzögerungen im Betriebsablauf the Teamwork arrived successfully on my new PC in umgekehrter Wagenreihung.

Coates ↔ Clydesgow currently takes two hours. An extension to the beaches will unlikely reach six hours, so it will be a short night. And a circuitous route. Maybe go directly from Farris via a yet-unbuilt line to towards Whales (1) or from Farris via Crianlarich and Oban (3) or along the border (2).
nighttrains-coates-whales.png
This won’t give the passengers whole night’s sleep, so you could load the train from Whales onto a train ferry for a four-hour ride to somewhere out of the map. Now Talgo trains are not the best choice when you want to split them into handy portions for the ferry, but it can be done with a few more end cars; maybe even breakfast buffet cars. (With one generator and one buffet car per short train. And the end cars the right way round, not as in your example at Coates West Station. )

A 2nd train from the same ferry could go to Clydesgow, then that route would be operated with one rake of Talgo coaches from Montspoor railways and one from Clydeshire.

Sample timetable: (very very rough estimation of times)
ca. 16:00 - 20:00 go along the coast and pick up passengers from seaside towns
ca. 20:00 - 22:00 Capital of Whales, last chance for passengers to get on
ca. 24:00 - 02:00 loading onto ferry at Coates or FIshguard or Ferryden or wherever ⛴
ca. 04:00 - 08:00 unloading at the other end, outside of the map, arrival or goes further

Other direction:
ca. 20:00 - 24:00 loading at the other end, outside of the map
ca. 02:00 - 04:00 unloading from ferry at Coates or FIshguard or Ferryden or wherever ⛴
ca. 06:00 - 08:00 Capital of Whales, first chance for passengers to get off
ca. 08:00 - 12:00 go along the coast to set down passengers at seaside towns

You can replace “Capital of Whales” with “Clydesgow”, “along the coast” with “through the mountains” and “seaside towns” with “mountain towns” for my section. :)

Ho hi,
EN453 hat geschrieben: Donnerstag 3. Oktober 2024, 17:12That´s nice planned! Agree with it. You can build the lines in if you want.
thanks! Shoudl the lines be straight or curvy? Castle Douglas is in the mountains, so the line has to climb down to the sea. Maybe with a few ups and down in between, to cross multiple river valleys.
But theres one thing: I want my state mostly electrified. In the future, there may be also some branchlines with BEMU or hydrogen powered trains. So there has to be a locomotive change at the border.
OK, the 40ies will get an electric loco in Castle Douglas.
For the ICE TD they may have to go to the "downtime management" in some abandoned port yard :)
And then replace them with ICE -T...
Or the tangential line that doesn’t touch the capital is partially unelectrified, so that the country is only mostly electrified. :P

BTW, here are some trains with the loco in the middle: double Railjet 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

BTW II, @matias: Direct trains between Coates and Whales could be done in a day, so that might be something for an open-access operator or even regular IC/IR trains.

The Lines could be curvy, but not squiggly. So forthe curves use "corners" as i don´t like them because they seem very unrealistic.

Okay thats good. Which locos do you think about? It´s 15kv 16,7hz. I would like the German Class 120 in service again :)

Also, there could be a railjet that splits in Ironwood. But then both the lines, to capital and beach have to be electrified.

G’d Evening,
I’ve uploaded an inbetween version 36½ which should contain all needed files and …

… a suggestion for two new lines from Castle Douglas (1) to Northdyk Port via Ironwood and the nameless town and another line (2) along the newly discovered towns of Kirkpatrick and Portpatrick to the sea.

This can be filled in with electirfied mainlines radiating from the capital.
Okay thats good. Which locos do you think about? It´s 15kv 16,7hz. I would like the German Class 120 in service again :)
Currently an 111 (and three cars), as it is available in a fitting color.
Also, there could be a railjet that splits in Ironwood. But then both the lines, to capital and beach have to be electrified.
Oh, there are currently no Railjets planned in or around Clydeshire. Only Touropa and C-Line are planning private,open-access trains Clydesgow – Castle Douglas – your capital – the coast.

The employee who put the Talgo train up for display has been reprimanded and given a model Talgo set to learn by themselves what happens if they are the wrong way around.

How about a train for shorter night trips, kind of like the night ICE in Germany? Except with couchettes/sleepers for end-to-end trips. For example:
Bild
Leaving Bordele (B) at 22:00 or so, turning around in Coates (C) at around 1:00, arriving in Clydesgow (C) at 3:00, Cumnock (CN) at 4:45 (ish), Capital (Cap) at something like 5:00, and the beaches at 7 or so. Maybe even slower taking into account locomotive changes at some places and changing directions in other places.

The other way around leaving the beaches at around 22:30-ish and arriving in Bordele at 7:30
Night trains sometimes do take circuitous routes in order to get a good nights sleep ;)

Daytime trains are very welcome too! As soon as trains are in operation rom Coates to Bordele, then I will start populating long distance services :) It may take a while though, sorry...

Looks interesting. Bordele – Coates could have a second section destined for Byte (my westernmost large north-south island) that’s detached at Coates and forms another train. And you can add two sections from Coates which are provided at 22:00 or 23:00 and left standing at the platforms for a few hours, so that people can enter their bed somewhat earlier if they wish.
