Oh my God,

what’s that? Mice in the basement of Strone station! I should sent in a Cat! :D Although it will be a long time until the Clydeshire Airport Train arrives in Inverfyne … :laughing-rolling:

Certainly, no problem. The consolidated timetable would then look like this:

Of course, trains are named in both directions; and three of the names would be available as Morning … and Evening … version.
ICE 42 would stable overnight to become ICE 35, ICE 36 would stable during the afternoon to become ICE 43. Alternatively there could be a minor maintenance workshop handling minor repairs in Redbanks, and these ICE would then run empty to/from Rhennir between services.
Or find something else for these DMUs to do, to avoid poor equipment utilisation. The Rhennir trains could go to Inverfyne (city), that would be nice for a daytrip from the big city to the small seaside town (Resorter?). It should be possible for the 14:27 arrival to do a run to Inverfyne and back and then do the 20:02 departure with time to spare; even more so for the 20:02 arr. to be back at 11~50 the next morning.

A similar daytripper Inverfyne (city) <-> Pembroke (Pleasurer?) would be nice, but to form the 06~35 train, it would have to leave ungodly early in Inverfyne.

Also, I found this gem:

So far, no IC6 in sight anywhere yet. But when you start work on that route, would you mind extending the Rhennir trains to a dummy station at the border and prepare timetable slots for the trains connecting with the Pembroke ones?

Interesting suggestions. Which route would the ICE take from Rhennir to Inverfyne? Via the coast (Kidderminster)? Via Alvechurch? Or via Cairndow? I would prefer the coastal route aimed at leisure travellers. Speaking of:

I am working on the timings until the border from Rhennir. Is the line electrified on your side? It's not on my side
The line from Pembroke to the nearby border will also receive timings soon.

Not yet decided, but the small towns are unlikely to be worth a detour. So the shortest route via Stourbridge and Kidderminster.

North of the Inverfyne Mainline, the only electric thing is the Inverfyne Fastline, Inverfyne suburban traffic and the Cairndow tramway.

Also, if the trains to Rhennir are named Morning Roland and Evening Roland, you have to put a Roland statue somewhere in town.

The line from Pembroke to the nearby border will also receive timings soon.
Timings are as follows
From Rhennir to the border is ten minutes. I.e.:
IC6 departing Rhennir 10:, 14:, 18:, and 22:50, passing the border at :00. In the opposite direction they should pass the border towards Rhennir :15 (9:15, 13:15, etc). If needed there could be demand for a "business travellers" morning IC in both directions 3-4 hours before the first IC6. But it would need to stand idle for 22-ish hours in each end - maybe use older rolling stock?

From Redbanks via Trimsaran to the border is 32 minutes. "Forbidden" times due to other trains between Trimsaran and Redbanks are xx:23/xx:43 and yy:42 (towards Redbanks) and xx:00/xx:30 and yy:35 (away from Redbanks). xx is every hour, yy every two hours (IC6). There are exceptions due to e.g. ICE, but these will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Both lines are single track and unelectrified. They will probably have an hours stopping service all day with extra services during rush hour if needed.

If you want a say in the train type used (and add colours to Montspoor), then please send the train type of your choice to the border station with the schedule you want.

G’d evening,

IC6 departing Rhennir 10:, 14:, 18:, and 22:50, passing the border at :00. In the opposite direction they should pass the border towards Rhennir :15 (9:15, 13:15, etc). If needed there could be demand for a "business travellers" morning IC in both directions 3-4 hours before the first IC6. I was envisioning an extension of the Redbanks – Rhennir IC6 trips to Warstones and additional fillers Rhennir – Warstones to ‘densify’ that section to at least hourly, so:
  • IC6 Redbanks – Rhennir – Pembroke every 4h*
  • IC6 Redbanks – Rhennir* – Warstones every 4h
  • IC6 Rhennir – Warstones every 2h
*—as I have been told by Montspoor Railways

Travel time Warstones – Redbanks is unlikely to be more than 2h, so a separate “business travellers” service would be more like (an) additional rush hour train(s)? Which direction? Remember that Warstones will get a port for ferries to the islands in the west.

Older rolling stock shouldn’t be a problem, as the Warstones railway has plenty of loco-hauled coaches availabe, as evidenced by all the placeholder trains standing around.
I’m not (yet) planning anything beyond the …
  • abovementioned IC6,
  • local trains to Pembroke via Clunderwen,
  • local trains to Redbanks or Trimsaran via 12868/6600 (via Henley-in-Arden),
  • IR20 to Trimsaran or Redbanks or further via 12868/6600 (via Henley-in-Arden) and
  • the existing and planned routes via Strone.
SInce my base frequency is half-hourly with additional rush-hour trains, it should be possible to find some train fitting into your available slots. :)
If you want a say in the train type used (and add colours to Montspoor), then please send the train type of your choice to the border station with the schedule you want.
Regionals have G2000 with beautiful, colourful mushy-gray double-deck coaches for the heavy loads and Itinos for the lighter loads, as can be seen in Henley-in-Arden station. For the IR routes, I’m going to aquire some Danish IC3 units for the base service; rush hour trains will be G2000 with some older coaches. The German 612 DMUs that are still standing around in some stations will have to look for other work.

Seeing as you suggest having additional fast trains Warstones - Rhennir anyway, there is no need for the additional IC6 four hours earlier as I suggested.

About the rolling stock: if I get around to making cross border services before you I will choose some of the rolling stock on exhibition around Warstones as you suggested. But it can of course be changed at a later date upon request
